Organizing left over contianers

Several months ago I was cleaning up the spare room and came across a shoe box which I couldn't throw away it was sturdy and neutral in design. I don't know why it I didn't think of it sooner but I used my shoe box to hold all my lids to leftover plastic containers. (Ziploc plastic containers, yogurt and sour cream cups and so on) It works beautifully at keeping my cabinet clean and organized where before lids (which don't stack nicely) and containers were strewn about everywhere. I even glued a cute label to my box, there used to be some ribbon but it fell off.

Adding to my cabinet organization, last week I found a yellow basket at the thrift store, it's super cool, the color is great and the shape is square, it could easily be a fruit basket. I'm using it to keep all the little containers "contained."

I don't have a before picture and even if I did I would be pretty embarrassed to show it.

It's amazing that one little shoe box could clean up a perpetually disorganized cabinet.

Big spaces are much more difficult to organize than small ones. I have resorted to smaller rectangular containers to corral my cupboards, too. I haven't been as ambitious as you to decorate, though. I'm still struggling with functionality. Beauty will come eventually (I hope ;+)

That's a great idea! I'm always looking for ways to organize...but don't always make the time for it. My plastic container cabinet is a disaster at the moment. I love before and after pictures, even though it's incredibly embarrassing to let others peek into your "befores". I have discovered there are a lot more "messies" out there besides myself!
